Biography:
Raymond Chan is the Assistant Director (Entrepreneurship) at Hong Kong Baptist University to catalyse university research discoveries into social and economic benefits. His responsibility aims not only to create and commercialise future technologies but also to envision better lives, communities, and environments.
Prior to joining academia, Raymond co-founded and sold two technology startups in 2013 and 2019, respectively. His experience also includes multi-dimensional data modelling approaches in trading dynamics with E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley in Silicon Valley.

With deep expertise in the built environment and sustainability, Edward has contributed to numerous award-winning commercial and residential development projects in Hong Kong over the past decade. Through his leadership, the projects have incorporated Digital Twin technology and are supported by open BIM and data analytics technologies. In recent initiatives, these digital twin solutions have been integrated with tri-party (landlord, tenant, staff) ESG partnership programmes, delivering benefits for both building operators and corporate tenants by enhancing ESG capabilities.

The construction and infrastructure sectors generate vast amounts of data across multiple formats—spreadsheets for asset inventories, Building Information Models (BIM) for design and construction details, and scheduling tools like Primavera P6 for project timelines. Traditionally, these data silos hinder holistic analysis and decision-making. This presentation explores how AI-powered knowledge fusion breaks these barriers by integrating heterogeneous data sources into a unified knowledge base. Leveraging technologies such as Knowledge Graphs, AI Search, and Agentic AI, we demonstrate how structured and unstructured data can be ingested, linked, and queried using natural language. Practical examples include converting Excel-based asset inventories into SQL databases, enabling semantic queries across BIM and schedules, and generating actionable insights for risk management, resource optimisation, and predictive analytics. Ir Kevin Ip leads a digital team at Arup’s Hong Kong office, focusing on design automation, data and analytics, AI and BIM technologies. He began his career at Arup with a strong background in structural dynamics and earthquake engineering. His experience includes working in the Advanced Technology & Research group in London and participating in the Christchurch earthquake rebuild in New Zealand. These experiences have enabled him to transform his domain knowledge into digital engineering. Kevin also serves as the Data Leader of the Digital Executive in the Arup APAC region and is a member of the IStructE technical panel for Digital Workflow and Computational Design. His role spans a wide range of traditional and new businesses at Arup, involving him in strategic thinking and decision-making processes to drive digital transformation within the firm.

Jimmy Kwong is a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme, specialising in Emerging Technologies, with a concentration in Generative AI, at Golden Gate University, and a Scholar of the MIT AI Executive Program. He is a researcher–practitioner in emerging technologies, driving transformation across AI, Blockchain, Cloud computing, and Data Management, with an emphasis on translating innovation into practical operational and governance outcomes.
He devised a risk management system at an international airport more than a decade ago to strengthen security while facilitating legitimate flows, and later spearheaded the development of an award-winning, contactless collaborative cloud platform for isolation facilities in Hong Kong during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He is the coordinator of the Hong Kong MIKE Award and a Vice President of the Hong Kong Knowledge Management Society. A recipient of many Knowledge Management and E-Learning international awards, including the Knowledge Management Award for Excellence in 2021 and the QS Wharton Reimagine Education Gold Award (Asia) in 2015, Professor Tsui was twice listed as an exemplary/outstanding academic in PolyU Annual Reports in the last 8 years.
